| Yes I Am a Musician Also February 12, 2008 12:58:17 Yes, I am a musician also. You may notice at the top of most of my pages is a link to download music. My wife, my son, and I currently have some recordings we have posted for interested folks to listen to and purchase if they so desire. We mainly play traditional celtic music with some original tunes mixed in. We will have more music posted in the near future. I have played music for the past 40 years. I started with guitar and then began playing the fiddle about 1970 or so. All along I have written music and played in some bands a long time ago that focused on playing original music. It is only in the last couple of years I have become interested in the Celtic genre. I like the variety, the energy, and the lyricism of a lot of the music we play and listen to. We attend two jam sessions in the area on a semi-regular basis. One takes place in Hannibal, Missouri on Monday nights. The other takes place in Quincy, Illinois on Thursday nights. Each of these sessions can have as many as two dozen musicians. The music is largely Celtic with a few old time tunes thrown in. We also play at other places occasionally. Last Saturday afternoon we were at the Collver Family Winery in Barry, Illinois. Next Friday evening we will be playing at Barney's Pub in Quincy. When the weather warms up we will probably be playing at some outdoor events also. All in all, I hope you will listen to some of our music and to help support our site here maybe you could even go so far as to purchase some of the music you hear.
