A trip to the recylcer. Monday, May 20, 2010 I made a trip to the recycle place today. My little old Toyota pickup was piled with aluminum and a bunch of steel that I thought was aluminum. I got $35 for it all. So, I was happy. It was all stuff that I had piled up out by the shed the last couple of months. Most all of the old metal around the farm here has been hauled off. A couple of years ago, in fact, I guess just last year we had people coming up asking to let them pick up old metal and haul it away. That was when all metals were high. You would see trucks on the highway with big loads of junk strapped on. You don't see that so much now. Anyway, the recycling place is a mess and it makes you nervous to drive in with all that metal junk laying around but so far I don't have any flat tires. I am going to use the money to buy architectural moldings for my porch I am building. Went in Home Depot to get some other stuff for the school job we are working on and they really did not have much I could use. So I will keep my eyes open in the coming months and see if I can get together another pile to haul up.
